Accessibility

Play is for everyone.

Our commitment to an accessible website, app and lending experience.

This statement is a working draft for the pilot and will be updated as we test with players and partners.

Our commitment

DinkHQ wants every player to be able to borrow gear and get on court, independently and with dignity. We are committed to meeting the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and to designing our website and app to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

Digital accessibility

  • Keyboard access to every page, menu and form.
  • Visible focus states and a skip-to-content link.
  • Colour contrast that meets AA ratios for text.
  • Descriptive alt text and labelled form fields.
  • Respect for your device's reduced-motion setting, which turns off animation.
  • Layouts that work at 200% zoom and on small screens.

At the rack

  • Racks are mounted so the QR code and lowest paddles are reachable from a seated position wherever the site allows.
  • Lightweight and large-grip paddles are part of the lineup.
  • Host club staff can check paddles in and out for anyone who prefers not to use a phone.

Known limitations

The native iOS and Android apps are still in development. We will test them with screen readers including VoiceOver and TalkBack before release. Some partner facilities may have physical access limitations outside our control, which we note in the app.
